The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced a reduction in electricity tariffs under the monthly fuel charge adjustment (FCA), providing relief to consumers across the country.

Official notifications issued on Thursday confirmed the decrease in power rates for both K-Electric (KE) and other distribution companies.

According to NEPRA, KE consumers will see a reduction of Rs3 per unit, reflecting the December 2024 adjustment, while the rest of the country will receive a Rs2.12 per unit cut, based on the January 2025 adjustment. The relief will be applied to electricity bills for March 2025.

This adjustment, however, does not apply to lifeline consumers, domestic users consuming up to 300 units, prepaid customers, agricultural connections, and electric vehicle charging stations.

However, domestic consumers with Time of Use (ToU) metres will benefit from the reduction, regardless of their electricity usage.

NEPRA has also instructed distribution companies to follow legal directives regarding the FCA implementation.
