Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has dismissed speculation about any “deal” or relief for former PM Imran Khan, calling such reports “false and misleading.”
According to reports, the minister said there was “neither any deal nor any leniency,” stressing that claims of offering concessions to Imran Khan had no basis.
Tarar’s statement came after concerns were raised about Imran’s eyesight. However, a medical board examined him in Adiala Jail and reported improvement in his vision, noting improvement in his right eye and normal vision in the left one.
Moreover, government officials have repeatedly rejected opposition claims that he is being denied medical care. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said reports of severe vision loss were “baseless propaganda” and insisted that all necessary treatment was being provided under prison rules.
Danyal Chaudhry, a parliamentary secretary also rejected any rumors of “deal” with the PTI founder, claiming that he wanted a deal and concession since day one. “We are also ready for talks, but we will not accept any blackmail in this regard. The only reason for sending Imran Khan abroad for treatment can be that, God forbid, he may be suffering from a life-threatening disease that cannot be treated here,” he claimed.
