Quetta's Presiding Officer, Zamruk Achakzai, administered the oath to fifty-six newly elected lawmakers of the Balochistan Assembly on Wednesday.

Zamruk Achakzai extended a warm welcome to the new members, expressing hope for their collaborative efforts towards the province's development. He emphasized the collective responsibility to propel the province forward.

The assembly staff made necessary arrangements for welcoming the newly elected members. The inaugural session of the Balochistan Assembly coincided with the induction of new members in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly.

A total of 5,026 polling stations were set up across Balochistan, with 1,651 identified as most sensitive and 2,249 as sensitive, ensuring broad coverage and accessibility for voters.

A comprehensive training program was conducted for 51,379 polling officers and other staff members to ensure the smooth conduct of the electoral process.

In the 2018 general elections, the Balochistan Awami Party won 15 seats, establishing its governance in the province.

The government formation included four independent candidates, with representation from four women and one non-Muslim seat. Jam Kamal Khan assumed the role of Chief Minister, marking a significant milestone in the province's political landscape.
