Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur has announced to allocate a land for separate graveyards for transgender people in every district of the province.
The decision came in a meeting chaired by CM KP after the Governor met with 300 transgender people during the Iftar dinner, where they had the opportunity to share their problems.
Expressing their gratitude, the transgender noted that it was the first time in the country's 76-year history that they were invited to the Governor House.
The governor gathered with the transgender community on Sunday in Peshawar, where they discussed various problems faced by the transgender people of the province.
Later, the Governor told CM KP to give transgender people a separate graveyard to avoid the problems they have to face during burial.
Gandapur agreed to allocate land for a separate graveyard for the transgender community, but the notification has not been issued yet.
