The District and Sessions Courts in Islamabad heard five cases, including attempted murder, against the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, filed by former federal minister Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha.

The court restrained authorities from arresting the PTI founder in the attempted murder case and four other related matters.

It also ordered that both the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi not be arrested in the concerned cases until 18 February.

The court extended the pre-arrest bail of the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi. The PTI founder could not be produced before the court via video link.

The court directed that he be presented either in person or through a video link at the next hearing.

The hearing was conducted by Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka. Arguments could not be presented due to the absence of the PTI founder and his counsel Salman Safdar, prompting the court to adjourn the hearing on the bail applications until 18 February.

On behalf of the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi, assistant counsels Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry and Shamsa Kiani appeared before the court.

The PTI founder faces multiple cases, including those related to the 9 May incidents, attempted murder, and alleged fake receipts, while Bushra Bibi is accused in a case involving the submission of allegedly forged receipts.
