Immigration authorities at Islamabad Airport arrested three suspects linked to a gang involved in smuggling Pakistani women to China under the guise of marriage, according to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

The suspects identified as Shougui (Yousuf), Abdul Rehman, and Nauman, were apprehended while attempting to board a foreign flight to China. During the operation, a young woman, reportedly a victim of the trafficking scheme, was also taken into protective custody.

The FIA revealed that the gang included several women who played a role in arranging marriages between Pakistani girls and Chinese men.

The suspects allegedly targeted financially vulnerable women, persuading them to enter into these fraudulent marriages.

As per initial investigation, Abdul Rehman and Nauman, with the assistance of a Chinese agent named Paul, facilitated the necessary documentation for these marriages.

Paul, who charged an exorbitant fee, was responsible for arranging travel documents and other logistics for the trafficked women.

The FIA spokesperson further disclosed that the suspects had negotiated a deal with the victim’s mother, initially agreeing on a payment of Rs1 million of which she had already paid Rs150,000.

Additionally, the accused coerced the victim into signing a stamp paper, falsely acknowledging a Rs1 million loan, which they intended to use as leverage to blackmail her.

While authorities continue efforts to track down other members of the trafficking network, the arrested suspects were handed over to the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Cell for further investigation and legal proceedings.
