To protect children's personal information, the government announced to introduce a new feature in the B Form for children over 10 years old. This updated form will incorporate advanced security features.

The new format of Form B was updated on the directions of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and will be issued by January 15.

The latest feature was added to Form B with the help of the National Authority for Data and Registration (Nadra), under which, the forms will have the finger impressions and pictures of the applicants.

Interior Minister Naqvi stated that the measure could assist the authorities in securing children’s data or personal information, and these measures will help prevent crimes like fake identity cards of children, illegal passports and human trafficking.

The spokesperson of the Ministry's Interior Affairs stated that the Nadra centre will collect thumb impressions and pictures of children above 10 years of age.

It will be necessary to report at a Nadra centre with an original birth certificate and parents or legal guardian.

According to the spokesperson, children above 10 years and below 18 years of age will also have to submit a B form with fingerprints and a photograph issued by NADRA at the time of applying for a new passport.

The old B form, which does not include a photograph and fingerprints, will not be acceptable for children of the said age group.
