Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi has imposed a seven-day ban on flying all kinds of drone cameras in the metropolis under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).

The restriction was imposed after the Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) wrote a letter to the city administration citing threats to vital installations.

“There are serious threats to vital installations by the anti-state elements/hostile agencies in the wake of recent attacks on foreigners,” the letter from the police read.

On Saturday, three suicide bombers struck a foreign nationals' car in the Landhi area of Karachi, resulting in the loss of a security guard's life.

However, all five foreigners remained unharmed in the attack.

Earlier on March 31, the Karachi Commissioner imposed a ban on the use of drone cameras for two months in District South of the port city.

On the other hand, Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, who is currently on a three-day official tour to Pakistan, is set to visit the provincial capital today (April 23).

A public holiday was announced in the port city on Tuesday due to the arrival of foreign dignitaries.
