Renowned Islamic scholar Dr Zakir Naik recently shared his insights on the Gaza issue, highlighting the struggles of Palestinians to defend Masjid Al-Aqsa, the third holiest site in Islam.
During a conversation with Pakistani journalists in Islamabad, Dr Naik stressed that the Muslims of Gaza are fulfilling Farz-e-Kifayah, a collective duty upon Muslims, by engaging in Jihad against Israel.
The cleric noted that "if the people of Gaza do not wage Jihad, it will become obligatory for others".
Dr Naik referenced a fatwa by Sheikh-ul-Hadith Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani, which advocates for demanding an end to the bombing of Gaza and continued Jihad until "the last Jew leaves the land of Palestine."
"Gaza's struggle has opened our eyes," the globally celebrated personality said.
"When non-Muslims see the passion and courage of such people, they get impressed. Millions in Western countries have studied the Holy Quran and accepted Islam due to such individuals [Palestinians]."
Regarding Muslim unity, Dr Naik suggested forming an alliance like NATO.
"57 Islamic countries should unite based on NATO principles, making Muslim countries more powerful, but, unfortunately, Muslims are divided.
"If Muslims follow the Holy Quran and Sunnah, Allah's help will come more."
The 58-year-old eminent public speaker also urged the Muslims to boycott Israeli products in solidarity with the people of Gaza.
"We should pray, especially during Tahajjud, and spread awareness about the plight of Palestinian people on social media," he explained.
"Peaceful protests are also effective. Boycott Israeli products and provide financial assistance to Palestinians, whether it is Rs100 or Rs1000, Allah sees the intention."
Dr Naik also asked the world to file cases against Israel in the International Court of Justice.
