A video of a male student impersonating a girl and dancing to a Bollywood song at an event at Gomal University went viral, prompting the university administration to take disciplinary action.
The incident occurred a few days ago, and the video began circulating on social media on Tuesday.
The administration of Gomal University in Dera Ismail Khan expelled the student but did not disclose his identity. The boy's face is not visible in the viral video.
According to a spokesperson for Gomal University, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Shakibullah issued orders for disciplinary action against the student for impersonating a girl during a university program.
The Vice-Chancellor also directed disciplinary action against the students who organised the program.
Furthermore, he suspended two teachers for their failure to coordinate with the program organisers and formed an inquiry committee.
The student who impersonated a girl during the event will be expelled from the university to ensure that such indecent acts are not repeated.
The Vice-Chancellor emphasised that maintaining the dignity and discipline of Gomal University is of paramount importance and that strict action will be taken against any violations.
Regarding the video that went viral on social media, some social media users argued that the dance performance was not inherently immoral, but the university administration faced pressure from certain religious groups.
