Governor Tessori to host qawwali night, fireworks show on New Year's Eve

Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori announced that Karachi will welcome the New Year 2025 in grand style, as the governor is set to host a Qawwali night and a 40-minute fireworks show on December 31. 

Addressing the media, the Governor Tessori  revealed that a spectacular fireworks display has been arranged at the Governor House to mark the occasion.

He emphasised that the New Year will be welcomed with optimism and positivity.

In addition to the fireworks, a Qawwali night will be held, featuring the renowned Qawwal Afzal Sabri, to bring a cultural and spiritual touch to the celebrations. 

Governor Tessori shared that preparations for the historic New Year stage neared completion and assured residents that the event would be unforgettable.

He invited the citizens of Karachi to join the celebrations at the Governor House. He added that such cultural programs aim to inspire hope and uplift the spirit of Karachi’s residents.

Police have decided to book people under attempted murder charges if they found involved in aerial firing on upcoming New Year’s Eve.

Additional IG Karachi, Javed Alam Odho, made the announcement in order to avoid loss of lives in celebratory firing by people.

He said more than 38 people were injured due to aerial firing, and such actions will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
