Hindu TikToker converts to Islam in Tharparkar

A young Hindu woman from Tharparkar, Sindh, has converted to Islam and married a Muslim man, according to media reports.

Bhagwanti Bheel, now known as Saima Islam, made the decision to convert to Islam on Monday, alongside her Muslim friend, Saddam Bajeer, who helped her with her TikTok videos and supported her singing career.

The conversion ceremony was conducted by a well-known Muslim cleric, Umar Jan Sarhandi, in Samaro.

Bajeer, who is already married with three children from his first wife, has reportedly stated that he is happy with his second wife and has no intentions of returning to his village.

The marriage and conversion have surprised many, as Bajeer’s family had been supportive of Bheel, while her own family distanced themselves after the news spread.

Bheel, a 20-year-old from the Bheel community, is said to have been a widow with a daughter from her previous marriage to a Hindu man.

The Bheel community is considered a lower-caste Hindu group with limited social and political influence in Pakistan.

The All Pakistan Hindu Panchayat issued a statement calling attention to the pattern of forced conversions, questioning the immediate marriage following the conversion.
