In an interview with Independent Urdu, Aleema Khan said her family would continue efforts to secure proper medical treatment for her brother, former prime minister Imran Khan, stressing that his health remained their foremost concern.

“We will fight for our brother’s treatment. My brother’s eye is not politics — it is his eye. It is a matter of his vision and health. Our family’s top priority is his wellbeing,” she said, adding that every prisoner has the right to medical care, particularly someone who has previously served as prime minister.

Aleema Khan also criticised certain political figures, alleging that they were acting on behalf of state agencies.

Referring to remarks made by Sher Afzal Marwat, she questioned allegations directed at Bushra Bibi.

She argued that at the time in question, Bushra Bibi was under house arrest in connection with the Toshakhana case, while proceedings in what is commonly referred to as Toshakhana 2 had not yet begun, disputing claims attributed to her.

Aleema further stated that Ali Amin Gandapur was not angry with the family but with Imran Khan himself, suggesting that frustrations which could not be directed at him were instead aimed at relatives.

She added that Imran Khan holds Mehmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Nasir Abbas in high regard, and advised Shandana Gulzar to exercise caution when mentioning their names.
