The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, held separate meetings with President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, expressing gratitude for Pakistan’s support during the war.

During the meeting, the President congratulated Ali Larijani on assuming the position of Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council.

He also thanked Iran for its solidarity during the recent floods and for the humanitarian assistance provided by the Iranian Red Crescent.

President Zardari expressed gratitude for Iran’s consistent support during Pakistan’s war with India. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s political and diplomatic support for Iran following Israeli aggression. 

He further appreciated Iran’s principled stance in support of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.

President Asif Zardari said that Pakistan aims to expand bilateral trade with Iran. He stressed the need to strengthen the Pakistan–Iran railway link on a priority basis to boost trade and improve tourism, adding that improved connectivity would facilitate travel for traders and pilgrims alike.

He emphasized the need for a mutually workable solution to the Iran–Pakistan gas pipeline project.

The President welcomed the recent technical discussions held in Islamabad and said that Pakistan looks forward to the continuation of talks in Tehran.

On this occasion, Ali Larijani conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian. He thanked Pakistan for its diplomatic and moral support during the recent 12-day war.

He praised the bravery and success of Pakistan’s armed forces during recent events, saying, “Pakistan’s victory is our victory.”

Larijani also stated that multiple directives have been issued to provide preferential market access to Pakistani products in Iran, paving the way toward achieving the target of $10 billion in bilateral trade.

Ali Larijani also met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where the two discussed key regional and international developments. Both sides emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.

The Prime Minister appreciated Iran’s principled stance on regional issues and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to working together with Iran for a peaceful and prosperous future for both nations.

Larijani thanked the people and leadership of Pakistan for their unwavering support during the recent 12-day war.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his respect and best wishes for Iran’s Supreme Leader and President.

It was agreed during the meeting that a delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar would soon visit Iran to advance cooperation in various sectors, particularly agriculture and
