Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz recalled how she bravely overcame all political challenges, imprisonment, and legal battles, saying that it is not easy to make someone like her "cry".

The Punjab government invited the top-performing students in board exams, along with their parents and teachers, from across the province to the Chief Minister's House, where the provincial head addressed the attendees at the event.

She congratulated parents and teachers for the students' success and anticipated that the number of position holders and toppers would be higher next year.

"I went to jail, faced trials, and no tears came to my eyes. But seeing you, my students, receiving the guard of honour brought tears to me. It's not an easy task to make someone like me cry," she said.

During her address, the first woman CM said that every coming day the Punjab government would bring about improvements in the education system.

She expressed pride in female students for securing positions in Pakistan's largest province.

CM Punjab praised the Minister of Education for investing in merit, emphasising that the future of the country hinges on the youth.

While addressing the ceremony, she announced that the 'School Mail' program would provide free milk to children.

The program started in South Punjab due to its high poverty rate, but it would eventually be expanded to the entire Punjab.

CM Maryam announced that her administration would restart the laptop scheme. She also pledged to increase the number of e-bikes to 30,000, which she had previously announced for students.
