Karachi is expected to receive torrential rains from August 3 (Saturday), according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
The weather department has warned that strong monsoon winds may affect Sindh, including the provincial capital, from the Arabian Sea from August 2 (Friday).
The Met Office has forecast rain with thunder in most places of Sindh from August 2 to 6, with a possibility of drizzle and light rain in the port city today and tomorrow.
The temperature of the city is likely to remain between 31 to 33 degrees Celsius.
However, the heavy rains also pose a risk of flooding in low-lying areas of Sindh, including the metropolis.
The Met department has also warned of a flood situation in Dadu, Qamber Shahdadkot, Jacobabad, and Jamshoro, as well as mountain streams of Kirthar and Balochistan.
According to the PMD, heavy rains, wind, and thunderstorm may cause damage to weak structures and solar panels.
"Citizens are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during the monsoon spell."
However, parts of Karachi received moderate to heavy rain early Thursday, while several main roads were submerged in rainwater.
