Light to heavy rain expected again in Karachi today

Westerly winds unleashed light and heavy rains in different areas of Karachi. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted further showers for the coastal belt of Sindh, including Karachi, throughout Wednesday.

According to the Meteorological Department, MA Jinnah Road, Saddar, Kharadar, Clifton, Defence, Orangi, New Nazimabad and surrounding areas received light and heavy rains.

It said that this was the first winter rain in Karachi this year.

The Met Department has predicted rain and snowfall in different parts of the country till February 4, showing the possibility of rain in the coastal areas of Sindh including Karachi on Wednesday.

Light to moderate rains are likely to occur in different areas of Sindh including Karachi during February 2-3.

On the other hand, Murree and Galiat again got colder after light snowfall. The temperature also dropped in different areas of Azad Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan.

As snowfall and rain continued in the upper regions, roads connecting cities and towns were closed, while several cities in Lahore and Punjab also recorded light rain.

Karachi continued to receive rainfall since Monday night, the city also saw light downpour early morning rain on Tuesday. Saddar, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Safoora, Malir and other areas received light to moderate showers.
