Karachi gears up for drop in temperature after morning showers

The weather department confirmed light rain in II Chundrigar Road, Sadar and nearby areas of Karachi on Tuesday morning.

On Monday evening, it also rained in Super Highway Nooriabad, Kathor, and adjacent areas.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the weather will remain cold in most parts of the country today and cloudy in the upper districts.

The weather department stated that there is a possibility of rain in Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Potohar region, Kashmir, and adjoining hilly areas, with potential snowfall on the mountains.

It has forecast predominantly cold weather in most regions of the country, with upper areas experiencing cloud cover.

There is a likelihood of shallow to moderate fog persisting in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh.

Over the past 24 hours, the prevailing weather conditions in most parts of the country will remain primarily cold and partially cloudy.

However, rain was reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Islamabad, the Pothohar region, and Gilgit Baltistan. 

The western and northern parts of the country are under the influence of a westerly wave, which will bring rain and snowfall over the next few days, mainly in the mountains, the Met Department reported.
