The port city is expected to receive the second spell of monsoon rains from July 20 (Saturday), Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz said.
However, the weatherman said that light rain is likely to hit parts of Karachi today (June 10).
"A heavy spell of monsoon rains may affect Karachi after July 20, bringing much-needed relief to the city," he said while talking to a private news channel.
The weather expert informed that the sea breeze will return from the evening, improving the weather in the city for the next three to four days.
"There is a possibility of drizzle in the morning and night due to sea clouds," he said adding that the temperature would range from 34 to 36 degrees Celsius.
The current temperature in Karachi is 30 degrees Celsius, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The Met office said the maximum temperature today is likely to hover between 35 to 37 degrees Celsius.
A day earlier, moderate to heavy rain lashed parts of Karachi. A man was killed and another was injured after a wall of a shop collapsed in Surjani sector seven A area.
