Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan, his vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi and other suspects allegedly involved in the attack on GHQ are expected to be indicated in the case on October 19.

ATC judge Amjad Ali Shah heard the case pertaining to the May 9 riots, sparked after the arrest of Imran Khan from the premises of Islamabad High Court in the Al-Qadir trust case.

The court decided to hear the GHQ attack case first, for which it distributed copies of the challan to the suspects, counsels and pleaders. Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi were also sent copies by their counsels.

The court also issued arrest warrants for the 31 suspects who did not appear before the court and decided to indict Imran Khan and others on October 19.

Following the May 9 incidents, the Rawalpindi police registered multiple cases in different police stations of the city against prominent figures, including Shireen Mazari, Zartaj Gul, Sadaqat Abbasi, Arif Abbasi, Colonel (rtd) Shabbir Awan, Major (rtd) Latasab Satti, and Chaudhary Javed Kausar.

Imran Khan was officially arrested in the case on January 8.

It should be noted that the court has previously ordered the exclusion of the former chairman’s wife, Bushra Bibi, from these cases.
