Lahore crime rate dropped by 43% under CM Maryam's govt: report

In an achievement for the government of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Lahore has witnessed a remarkable 43 percent decrease in its crime rate during the third quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2023.
The statistics are encouraging, with an 80 percent reduction in kidnapping for ransom cases, 36 percent fewer murders, and 36 percent fewer robberies reported.
Police records indicated that 34,673 crimes were reported from July to September this year, a notable drop from 60,213 crimes during the same period last year.
Furthermore, motorcycle theft dropped by 38 percent, bicycle theft by 22 percent, and vehicle theft by 29 percent.
The police have also recorded a 49 percent decrease in robberies and a 47 percent decrease in street crimes from July to September.
According to DIG Operations Faisal Kamran, the police are leveraging modern technology to control crime and are committed to utilising all available resources to suppress criminal elements.
