Lahore police seize large liquor stock meant for New Year's Eve

In a major crackdown against illicit liquor sellers, Lahore police seized a large stock of alcohol intended for sale during New Year's Eve celebrations in various parts of the city.

The police conducted a raid in Model Town Katchery parking on the intelligence information, where they found a big stock of wine, with 140 bottles. 

The police arrested a man, identified as Ashraf, who was in charge of the alcohol bottles. He confessed to the police that he bought wine to sell on the New Year.

The police registered the case against him and began probing the place from where he picked this big consignment of wine. 

Meanwhile, Additional IG Traffic Punjab issued special orders regarding the traffic plan on the occasion of New Year's Night, which stated that vehicles exceeding the capacity as per the plan should not be allowed to enter the city.

Additional traffic personnel should be deployed on major highways on the occasion of New Year's Night.   

Apart from this, the Lahore District Commissioner issued a notification, imposing a complete ban on fireworks for the upcoming New Year celebration. 

The DC emphasised that air pollution could lead to health issues and urged the residents of Lahore to comply with the ban for the well-being of the community.
