Senior Minister of Punjab, Marriyum Aurangzeb, was seen holding Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz's bag in a photo taken during their recent visit to Switzerland.
The image, which quickly circulated on social media, prompted mixed reactions, with some netizens criticising the gesture, suggesting it was inappropriate for a senior government official to act as a personal assistant.
The viral picture, shared on X, showed Aurangzeb, CM Maryam, and Nawaz Sharif walking down a street toward their cars.
The snapshot, extracted from a video of the PML-N leaders in Switzerland, depicts Aurangzeb carrying both her own bag and CM Maryam's handbag.
Many on social media expressed disapproval, stating that this reflects an inappropriate trend where government officials blur professional boundaries by acting as personal aides to their superiors.
However, others defended CM, with journalist Shama Junejo explaining her own experience when she had a nerve damage following surgery, which prevented her from holding anyhting in hand even a handbag.
