Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Friday unveiled the Civil Registration Management System (CRMS) mobile application to provide citizens with easy access to birth, death, marriage, and divorce registration services through a fully digital, paperless platform.
The CM said the app is part of the broader Electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (E-CRVS) system, which has been approved with a budget of Rs 471.254 million.
The system will operate across 30 districts and 769 health facilities, targeting the digital registration of 85% of births at public and private hospitals.
The chief minister said that immunisation, disease surveillance, and patient identity management will also be linked with the system.
During the launch, Murad Ali Shah emphasised the government’s commitment to digitalising administrative processes to improve transparency, efficiency, and convenience for citizens.
“This launch marks a significant step from paper-based governance to a technology-driven approach. The CRMS Mobile App enhances transparency, efficiency, accessibility, and public trust, showcasing Sindh’s leadership in digital governance,” he said.
Developed in collaboration with NADRA, the app is designed to reduce long queues, paperwork, and delays. It enables citizens, particularly those in remote or marginalised areas, to register vital events without visiting government offices, providing accurate, single-source digital records integrated with provincial databases.
