A woman from Lahore accused of killing her three children has been sent to police custody, a day after the bodies were found in the Shah Jamal area.
According to reports, police presented the woman before Judicial Magistrate, seeking a 14-day remand. The court, however, approved a five-day remand for further investigation.
The case emerged when three siblings were found murdered inside their home near Shah Jamal Colony in Lahore. The kids had injuries on their throats.
According to police officials, including DIG Operations, Faisal Kamran, the mother is the prime suspect. She herself has confessed to the crime.
Meanwhile, the police revealed that it was because of a fight with her husband. They had been having problems for months.
The mother told the police she was very upset and had thought about killing herself first. She later abandoned the idea, fearing her children would be left vulnerable if she died.
Investigators are now working to gather evidence and verify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Moreover, the case has drawn widespread attention due to its disturbing nature, raising concerns about mental health pressures and the scale of consequences that domestic fights can lead to.
Police say further details will emerge as the investigation progresses and forensic reports are completed.
