Uzma Kardar, who recently sown in as Punjab Assembly MPA from PML-N's platform has issued a clarification message on being cold-shouldered by Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz.
The video, capturing Maryam's encounter with Kardar in the Punjab Assembly earlier this morning, where Maryam initially greeted Kardar but then removed Kardar's hand from her shoulder, quickly gained traction on social media. Many criticized Maryam for what they perceived as rudeness.
However, Kardar addressed the incident hours later, explaining that Maryam had pushed her hand away because it was "oily."
"I was having breakfast, enjoying halwa puri, when Maryam Sahiba approached me from behind and greeted me, which moved me emotionally," Kardar clarified in a video statement.
Kardar further explained that she stood up and hugged Maryam to reciprocate the greeting, but in the emotional moment, she forgot that her hands were coated with oil from the breakfast.
"Suddenly, I realized my hands were oily, so I withdrew them," she added. "I should have been more mindful."
Kardar then appealed to individuals circulating the brief video clip on social media, criticizing Maryam, to refrain from such "pointless" actions and to show respect for others.
