Nawaz Sharif challenges defeat in NA-15 Mansehra

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supremo and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has officially challenged his defeat in National Assembly constituency NA-15 Mansehra.
The unofficial tally saw independent candidate Shehzad Muhammad Gashtasab Khan emerge as the victor, clinching 105,249 votes, while Nawaz Sharif secured 80,382 votes.
In his petition submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan, Sharif highlighted the logistical hurdles faced by several areas in Mansehra due to heavy snowfall, resulting in communication disruptions during the voting process.
He contended that these challenges might have adversely impacted voter turnout and compromised the fairness of the election.
Consequently, Sharif has urged the Election Commission to withhold the results of NA-15 Mansehra until a comprehensive investigation is conducted and the raised issues are resolved satisfactorily.
The Election Commission is now tasked with reviewing Sharif's application and deliberating on the validity of his concerns.
It is to be noted that PML-N supremo and PM hopeful, Nawaz Sharif defeated PTI-backed Yasmin Rashid in NA-130. The win which is also said to be controversial.
