Former prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has fallen ill, with doctors recommending complete rest.

According to party sources, his physician, Dr. Adnan, is monitoring his health daily. Due to his condition, he has been advised against air travel.

Nawaz Sharif traditionally spends the last ten days of Ramadan in Saudi Arabia, visiting Makkah and Madinah. However, this year, doctors have not permitted him to undertake the journey.

Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Adviser Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif questioned Nawaz Sharif's absence from the Parliamentary Committee on National Security meeting.

Saif demanded an explanation from those who convened the meeting, asking if Nawaz’s no-show signaled support for terrorists. He also sarcastically speculated whether the PML-N president’s platelet count had dropped again, preventing his attendance.

Criticizing the government, Saif said imprisoning the PTI founder had weakened national consensus. He stressed that national unity was essential before launching any new anti-terror operations.

“Terrorism cannot be defeated through repetitive condemnations,” he asserted, adding that PTI truly represents national unity against terrorism and stands with the country’s brave heroes.
