Pakistan Army on Wednesday conducted a successful training launch of the Fatah-II Guided Rocket System with a range of 400 kilometres, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
According to the military's media wing, the launch was aimed at perfecting the launch drills and procedures.
"Equipped with a state-of-the-art navigation system, unique trajectory and manoeuvrable features, Fatah-II is capable of engaging targets with high precision and defeating any missile defence system," ISPR said in a statement.
ISPR further said that the Fatah-II was inducted in Pakistan’s artillery divisions for "stand-off, precision engagement of deep targets."
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, seniour officers from the three services and dedicated scientists and engineers witnessed the flight test.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, and all Services Chiefs congratulated the troops and scientists, who participated in this excellent achievement.
