A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Karachi to Lahore landed safely despite missing one of its rear wheels, officials confirmed.

The issue was discovered during an inspection after the aircraft arrived at Allama Iqbal International Airport.

According to sources, the tire was intact when the flight departed from Karachi. The aircraft landed normally in Lahore without any apparent difficulties.

However, upon inspection, it was found that one rear wheel was missing. Lahore’s Air Traffic Control (ATC) alerted Karachi airport, where a part of the wheel shaft was later recovered, raising concerns over how the wheel detached during flight.

Aviation officials suspect that an external object on the runway may have caused the wheel to come loose.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and PIA’s Flight Safety Department have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.

PIA assured that the aircraft’s design prevented any immediate safety risks during landing. A PIA investigation team has been dispatched to Lahore, while aviation authorities continue their probe.

The final report is expected to shed light on the incident and help implement any necessary safety measures.
