Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his desire to transform Pakistan into a "progressive mini China" by emulating its development model and promoting economic cooperation between the two nations.

He made these remarks while meeting with a high-level Chinese delegation in Islamabad.

"It is a pleasure to welcome you to Pakistan. China and Pakistan are bound in an eternal bond of friendship," PM Shehbaz said.

"I am sure that your visit will be very useful, and it will promote investment, cooperation in industry, agriculture, and special economic zones in both countries," the premier added.

The PM said that the transfer of Chinese industry to Pakistan through joint projects would be mutually beneficial.

He also expressed regret over the recent incident in Bisham, in which five Chinese nationals were killed, and assured the delegation that effective measures have been taken to ensure the foolproof security of Chinese citizens in Pakistan.

PM Shehbaz also announced that Pakistan would offer free visas to Chinese citizens starting from August 14.

He reiterated that the friendship between China and Pakistan is "higher than the mountains and deeper than the seas."

The Prime Minister also highlighted the cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including space exploration, mining, minerals, and IT.
