It also demanded the release of other PTI leaders and workers, including Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pervazi Elahi, Dr Yasmin Rashid, Omar Sarfaraz Cheema, Ejaz Chaudhry, Mahmood-ul-Rasheed and others.

The motion added that the cases against the former prime minister were politically motivated and that had no lawful background.

PTI founder and other party leaders have been incarcerated on several charges following the May 9 riots, which were triggered by the arrest of Imran Khan in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case.
