CM Maryam to build 100,000 houses for low-income people in Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the construction of 100,000 houses for low-income groups and directed the authorities to make a comprehensive plan "as soon as possible".
In a cabinet meeting, the PML-N senior vice-president announced the project named ‘Apni Chat Apna Ghar’, which would accommodate those who could not afford to buy houses.
During the meeting, Punjab CM emphasised the importance of efficiency and affordability in the housing project for Punjab.
"Providing shelter to every poor is in our election manifesto, we will definitely fulfill our promise," she said.
Under the project, the Punjab government will build above 3,000 houses in the first phase, which would be sold on the lowest down payment and cheapest installment.
A day earlier, Nawaz Sharif's daughter announced the establishment of Punjab's first government-run cancer hospital in order to "facilitate the needy patients".
The state-of-the-art hospital will be built near Valencia Town in Lahore.
Since assuming the post of Punjab's head, CM Maryam has announced several projects for the betterment of the people of the country's largest province.
She also launched the 'Suthara Punjab' project in order to clean the province within one month.
"I want the entire Punjab clean in just one month whether they are rural areas or urban centres," CM Maryam said while issuing a warning to personally evaluate the progress.
Earlier, she announced the Ramazan relief package in line with the upcoming holy month of fasting.
