Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, has extended an invitation to Assistant Superintendent (ASP) Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi and her family for a visit to Riyadh as a 'royal guest'.
According to sources, the diplomat invited the brave police officer during their meeting at the Saudi embassy.
The invite came after ASP Shehrbano rescued a woman in Lahore's Achhra market from an enraged mob, who falsely accused her of blasphemy for wearing a dress with Arabic calligraphy print.
The Saudi envoy, while commending the young police officer's bravery, informed her that the Saudi government would cover all expenses for her and her family's visit to Riyadh, where they would be received as royal guests.
Earlier, the Chief of Army Chief Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir also lauded ASP Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi in a meeting, while the Inspector General of Police Dr Usman Anwar recommended her for the prestigious Quaid-e-Azam Medal.
