Serious flaws found in Mir Raza Ali’s initial post-mortem report

Serious discrepancies have reportedly emerged in the initial post-mortem report of Karachi-based young businessman Mir Raza Ali, raising concerns that the investigation into his death could be affected.

According to the preliminary autopsy report, Raza was estimated to have been dead for approximately 24 to 36 hours before the examination was carried out.

The report also stated that the firearm entry wound appeared larger than the exit wound.

However, sources familiar with the findings at the Medico-Legal Office (MLO) claim that photographs taken during the post-mortem suggest a different sequence of injuries.

The images reportedly indicate that the bullet entered through the victim's back and exited from the front, with a smaller wound visible on the back and a larger wound on the chest, raising questions about the observations recorded in the initial report.

The sources further stated that the photographs show the body in an advanced state of swelling, with noticeable deterioration to the face.

They added that a more detailed examination of the head may have helped determine the exact cause of the facial injuries.

According to the same sources, the victim's left hand appeared to be tightly clenched around broken grass, while unusual marks were visible on the right hand. They also reported the presence of an injury beneath the chin, which investigators are expected to examine further.

Separately, investigators have secured CCTV footage recorded at approximately 8:00 a.m. on July 29, showing a waste collector carrying a bag near the location where Mir Raza Ali's body was later discovered.

The individual is seen leaving the area after remaining there for several minutes.

Officials involved in the investigation suspect the firearm believed to have been used in the incident may have been removed from the scene by the individual captured in the footage, although this has not been officially confirmed.

Mir Raza Ali's body was found after 11:00 a.m. on July 29.

Authorities have not yet announced any final conclusions regarding the circumstances surrounding his death.
