Sindh governor Kamran Tessori confers honorary PhD on Iranian president

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori on Tuesday conferred an honorary PhD degree from the University of Karachi on Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi during his visit to Karachi.
A special meeting of the KU syndicate was held on Sunday and all the members “unanimously approved the conferment of the Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) in the Faculty of Islamic Studies to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr Seyed Ebrahim Raisi”, said a press release.
Tessori shared the pictures of awarding honorary degree to the Iranian president from his Facebook account.
Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi and his delegation arrived in Karachi on Tuesday afternoon.
The Iranian president was received by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori at Jinnah International Airport.
The Iranian president then paid a visit to Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum, where he laid a floral wreath and offered fateha.
Earlier in the day, Raisi visited Allama Iqbal’s mausoleum in Lahore to pay his respects to the poet of east.
Upon his arrival in the provincial capital, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz welcomed Raisi and his delegation at the Allama Iqbal International Airport on the second day of his three-day official visit to Pakistan.
“I wanted to address a public gathering in Pakistan, but, it could not be made possible due to some reasons," said President Raisi during his visit to the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal.
