The Sindh government has announced a public holiday on the occasion of Pakistan Day, March 23 (Saturday), a notification from the services, general administration, and coordination department said Friday.
"All offices, autonomous, semi-autonomous bodies, corporations and local councils under the administrative control of the Sindh government, except essential services, will observe March 23 as a public holiday," notification read.
Pakistan Day is a national holiday in Pakistan to commemorate the Lahore Resolution of March 23, 1940, when the Muslim League drafted the political resolution calling for establishing an independent federation.
The Resolution eventually led to the creation of Pakistan within seven years of its adaptation on August 14, 1947.
