Sindh Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has strongly rebutted recent speculations regarding the creation of new provinces within Sindh. He issued a statement after Karachi Bar Association (KBA) President Aamir Nawaz Warraich had claimed Sindh was set to be divided into three separate provinces, reportedly named Karachi, Mehran, and Sindh.

The video of Warraich was widely shared on social media as he was heard saying that an amendment will be introduced in December “after which, Karachi will become a separate province.”

Shah took to X to address the speculation, stating that the proposal was a "conspiracy." He wrote, “The conspiracy to divide the province whose assembly laid the foundation of Pakistan will be against neither any nation nor any political party, but against Pakistan and the ideology of Pakistan.”

Shah highlighted Sindh's historical significance, noting that Sindh was the first to support the idea of Pakistan by endorsing the Lahore Resolution.

He specifically recalled, “It should be remembered that on March 3, 1943, it was the Sindh Assembly, under the directive of Quaid-e-Azam, that first endorsed the Pakistan Resolution. Subsequently, the movement for the creation of Pakistan gained such momentum that Pakistan was formed while India was divided.”
