Son of Rehman Dakait arrested with illegal weapon in Karachi

Karachi police have arrested the son of notorious gangster Rehman Dakait and recovered an illegal weapon along with ammunition.

The suspect has been identified as Jibran, son of Abdul Rehman, popularly known as Rehman Dakait.

He was arrested within the limits of Kalakot Police Station during an operation in the District City area.

Police said an unlicensed firearm and rounds were recovered from the suspect at the time of arrest.

According to law enforcement officials, Jibran is a habitual offender and has previously been arrested in multiple criminal cases, for which he has also served time in jail.

His previous criminal record includes FIR No. 183/2023 registered under Sections 4 and 5 of the Explosive Act, and FIR No. 308/2024 under Sections 6/9(2)(3), both lodged at Kalakot Police Station.

A fresh case has now been registered against the suspect, and further legal proceedings are underway, police added.
