In a harrowing incident, two men reportedly killed their widowed mother over a property dispute in Karachi’s Faqir Colony, Orangi Town, it emerged on Friday.

The 40-year-old victim, Izzat Pari, was the mother of eight, including five sons and three daughters. Her husband had passed away five months ago.

The Station House Officer (SHO) of Mominabad police station said that Pari's two sons had strangled her to death with a rope and fled the scene.

Family tensions over property escalated after Mirzada's death. On Thursday morning around 8:30 AM, Khalil and Mukhtiar sent their younger siblings away and cruelly strangled their mother, Izzat Pari.

Police said the suspects, hailing from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, fled the scene after murdering their mother. The tortured body of the deceased woman was found inside the house and transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

After collecting forensic evidence from the crime scene, police launched an investigation into the matter. However, the culprits remain at large.

In an unrelated incident, a young married woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in Karachi's Azam Basti.

According to the statement, her husband had been working in a private school for the past 10 years. The couple tied the knot about a year ago and was blessed with a baby girl for three months.

However, the reason for the suicide remains unknown, despite her husband Noman Masih stating, "Everything seemed normal at home; there were no arguments, quarrels, or financial difficulties."

Masih said that he had no idea that why her wife attempted suicide.
