Information Minister Attaullah Tarar criticized Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for “spinning politics” over fake reports of Imran Khan’s death. He alleged that a PTI leader had spread the false news through Afghan and Indian media.

Taking to X, Tarar said that KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is protesting outside Adiala Jail for a leader he claims is jailed for corruption, while leaving KP administration unattended at a critical time when terrorism incidents have surged.

“Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, has adopted a political approach in which governance has been neglected, and all attention is focused on an illegal demand to seek political guidance from the party founder,” he stated.

He added that instead of providing relief to the public and prioritizing governance, KP PTI and the Chief Minister are running politics around this illegal narrative day and night in Islamabad.

“Not only this, a female PTI politician has allegedly launched a vile campaign against Khan Sahib on anti-Pakistan accounts operating from Afghanistan and Indian media,” he said.

Tarar did not reveal the name of the PTI leader but slammed the party for “defaming Pakistan in the world.” He added that PTI is taking an approach of hostility towards its own country.

“PTI should abandon anti-Pakistan narratives and wrong priorities and instead prioritize the interests of the state and the people,” his post concluded.
