The Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) said that heavy rain with thunderstorm is expected to hit Sindh, including Karachi, from February 29 (tomorrow).
In its weather advisory, the Met Office said heavy rain coupled with wind and thunderstorms is expected in Karachi, Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Hyderabad, Thatta and other cities from February 29 (Thursday) and March 1 (Friday) under the strong westerly wave system.
On the other hand, weather analyst Jawad Memon said the port city is expected to receive heavy rainfall from March 1 (Friday) to March 4 (Monday).
Isolated hailstorms in some parts of Karachi are also likely during the period, he added.
Meanwhile, PMD predicted widespread heavy rain with wind and thunderstorms in Balochistan on February 29 and March 1.
However, early torrential downpours have caused havoc in Gawadar and Makran, where the flash floods were triggered by the rain.
Several people, including women and children, were trapped in flood water.
According to weather analyst Jawad Memon, Balochistan's Gawadar and the coastal areas of Makran received 150mm of rain.
