Karachi traffic police stated that a 3-kilometer area, from Tibet Centre to Soldier Bazar, will remain closed today (Tuesday) due to a procession commemorating the birth anniversary of Hazrat Ali (RA).
Amidst heightened security, the procession will depart from Tibat Centre and proceed towards Soldier Bazar at 4:00 pm.
Hundreds of people are anticipated to participate in the procession, which will be protected by police personnel and other law enforcement agencies. The street near the procession route will be cordoned off with barricades.
The traffic police shared the traffic diversion plan to minimise inconvenience for commuters.
According to the spokesperson of the traffic police, commuters can access Tower from Gurumandir via Soldier Bazar and the Anklesaria Hospital signal. However, the road will be closed from Shahra-e-Quaideen to Khudadad signal.
The traffic police said that vehicles would be diverted from Khudadad signal towards Saddar Bridge.
It is pertinent to mention that Hazrat Ali (RA) was the fourth and final Caliph of Islam. Muslims worldwide celebrate his birth anniversary on Rajab 13.
In this regard, special gatherings and ceremonies are organized at various locations, including mosques and imambargahs, to commemorate his sacrifices in the propagation of Islam.
