Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council Allama Tahir Ashrafi dismissed Bushra Bibi's claims about the events surrounding Imran Khan's visit to Madinah, calling them ‘false.’
Allama Tahir Ashrafi asserted that he himself was present during the visit and refuted Bushra Bibi's version of events, particularly her claim regarding former army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa's involvement.
According to Allama Tahir Ashrafi, General Bajwa was indeed in Madinah at the time, and the former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, “Was given more than he had asked for during the visit”.
Allama Tahir questioned the legitimacy of Bushra Bibi's claim that Imran Khan did not impose any Sharia and why Saudi Arabia would feel threatened by him?
He pointed out that Islamic laws are already in effect in Saudi Arabia, and emphasised that the real issue for some individuals is Saudi investments coming into Pakistan.
Allama Tahir Ashraf also responded to allegations that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were backing down on the issue of Palestine, claiming that some individuals were spreading propaganda against Saudi Arabia in an attempt to please hostile forces.
Bushra Bibi had earlier accused former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa of being involved in a conspiracy following Imran Khan's visit to Madinah. She claimed that after Khan returned, Bajwa received calls and he was told by Saudi officials that Imran Khan is ‘undesirable.’
