A stunning parade of planets has been taking place in the sky, beginning on January 21 and continuing through January 25.

During this time, six planets of our solar system—Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, Neptune, and Uranus—will appear in a straight line across the sky. This celestial event can be observed after sunset.

The planets Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars are visible without a telescope, while Neptune and Uranus will require a more powerful instrument.

The planetary alignment will be visible for about three hours each evening.

Astronomers describe this alignment as a rare and spectacular sight that provides a glimpse into the vastness and beauty of the solar system.

A similar alignment occurred in March 2023, featuring Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus. Another alignment is set for June 3, 2024, when Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune will line up.
