WhatsApp introduces new custom chat themes feature

WhatsApp is introducing a highly anticipated feature that will allow users to add vibrant colors to their chats, moving beyond its standard dark green theme.

According to WABetaInfo, Meta’s popular messaging app is preparing an update that will offer a range of 20 colors, allowing users to personalize their chat themes like never before.

The new feature will be part of the WhatsApp for iOS 24.20.71 update and will include 22 distinct themes along with 20 bold colors, giving users more ways to customize their messaging experience.

Users will have the option to set a default chat theme through app settings, ensuring a consistent appearance across all chats.

However, they can also personalize individual chats with different themes, distinguishing between personal, work, and group conversations.

The app will automatically assign a wallpaper that complements the selected chat color, though users can still choose their own wallpaper to further differentiate chats with the same theme.

It's worth noting that any changes made to a chat theme will only affect the user’s phone and won’t alter how the conversation appears on the recipient’s device.
