Several international companies, including WhatsApp, have started relocating various operations outside of Pakistan due to ongoing slow internet speeds and frequent service interruptions.

Documents from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) indicate that WhatsApp has moved its session server routing to foreign locations, a decision influenced by recent internet shutdowns within the country.

This transition has adversely affected WhatsApp's service delivery, resulting in communication challenges for users.

In spite of these difficulties, the PTA has reported enhancements in internet services across both fixed-line and mobile networks.

In the past month, fixed-line internet speeds have improved by two levels, although Pakistan continues to hold the 139th position globally in this area.

Conversely, mobile networks have seen an improvement of three levels, positioning Pakistan at 97th in the mobile network rankings.
