WhatsApp unveils new shortcuts to simplify status updates

WhatsApp is introducing new features aimed at simplifying status updates and improving accessibility for users.

The latest update, available to select beta testers through the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.3.22 via the Google Play Store, introduces additional shortcuts within the status creation interface.

According to WABetaInfo, the update adds two new options inside the gallery sheet when users tap the floating action button in the ‘Updates’ tab.

These shortcuts allow users to create text-based status updates or share voice messages, expanding the platform’s status update options beyond photos and videos.

Additionally, WhatsApp has rolled out a dedicated shortcut for recording voice messages directly within the status update creation screen.

Previously, the voice status recording feature was integrated with text-based updates, but this update streamlines the process, making it more accessible.

These enhancements are part of WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to improve user experience and provide more diverse ways to share updates.
