Apple is introducing iOS 27 for iPhone users, with the new mobile operating system set to become available to the public on the night of September 14.
The latest operating system brings several new features and updates, particularly to Mail, Safari, Camera, Photos, Maps and Find My Iphone.
One of the most significant updates has been made to Apple’s digital assistant Siri, which is being enhanced with Apple Intelligence and artificial intelligence-powered features.
However, not all iPhone models will be eligible for the iOS 27 update.
According to the details, Apple’s new AI features will be limited to the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16 series, iPhone 17 series, iPhone 18 series and the foldable iPhone Duo. These features require an A17 Pro chip or a newer processor.
The broader iOS 27 update, however, will be available on several older iPhone models. The operating system will support the iPhone 11 and newer models, while devices from 2018 or earlier will not be eligible for the update.
Compatible devices include the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, iPhone 15, iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 series.
The second-generation iPhone SE and later models will also be eligible for the iOS 27 upgrade.
