60-year-old man opens up about his marriage with young woman

A video of a 60-year-old man marrying a young woman has gone viral on social media, prompting widespread attention and discussion. In response, the elder man explained that “first there was love, and then we got married.”

The video, which has been widely shared since yesterday, attracted numerous comments from social media users.

A reporter visited the newlywed couple for an interview, during which the 60-year-old explained, “Our marriage is both arranged and love-based. My wife fell in love first, and then the arranged marriage took place—so we married after choosing each other.”

His wife, standing beside him, confirmed his account, agreeing that this was indeed the case.

The groom further remarked, “The heart should be young; age doesn’t matter. She was divorced, and by following Allah’s command and the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, I did what was right. I committed no wrongdoing, so why are people making negative comments?”

He criticised those who make such remarks, suggesting that they are often people who have had girlfriends or illicit relationships without committing to marriage.

The bride added, “When love comes from the heart, age is irrelevant. When you truly like someone, there is no reason to delay marriage.”

In the viral video, the bride appeared genuinely happy about the union, and family members were also pleased for the newlyweds, celebrating the marriage as a joyful occasion.
